Manohar Parrikar is from Goa State of India, born on December 13, 1955, at Gopal Krishna Parrikar's house in Mapusa village of Goa. Manohar Parrikar's full name was 'Manohar Gopalakrishna Prabhu Parrikar'.

He got his education from Loyola High School in the state of Goa. After finishing his 12th standard, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai and studied engineering.

Manohar Parrikar was married to Medha Parrikar in the year 1981. Parrikar has two sons. The name of the first child is Utpal Parrikar, while the other name is Abhijit Parrikar. Both sons of Parrikar have nothing to do with politics. Utpal is working as an engineer, while Abhijit himself has a business. 

Parrikar's wife Medha is no longer in this world. While his wife died due to cancer in 2001, Manohar Parrikar also has a brother named Avadhut Parrikar.

Parrikar had joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since his school days. Along with his studies he started working for the RSS branch of the youth. After completing these studies, once again he started serving the RSS. After which he got an opportunity to become a member of the BJP party and also contested for the first time from the BJP party. BJP gave tickets to Parrikar to contest the assembly elections from Goa's Panaji seat in 1994. 

Parrikar got the victory in this election. After that, he was appointed as Chief Minister of Goa in 2000, but for some reason, his tenure could not last long and he had to leave his chair on February 27, 2002. On 5th June 2002, he was again elected as the Chief Minister. From 2000 to 2005 and from 2012 to 2014 the Chief Minister of Goa. 

He has also been a member of the Business Advisory Committee and Member of Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. In 2014, he resigned from the post of Chief Minister and assumed the charge of the Defense Minister in the Modi Government of the BJP. 
They are also given credit for taking bold decisions like a surgical strike while living in defense.

Once again in 2017 assembly elections were held in Goa and in these elections the BJP won again. At the same time Goa's legislators have proposed to make Parrikar the chief minister for his state. 

Because of which Parrikar had to quit his defense minister and he returned to Goa to handle the Goa chief minister's post.

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was famous for his simplicity. Despite Goa's highest position, Parrikar used to visit the area often with his MLAs on a scooter. When they are also participating in any program, they reach ordinary costumes. Parrikar is said to know that once Parrikar had to go to a five-star hotel to attend a program, but on time his car
