Amazon's Alexa coming soon to comprehend Hindi commands Voice-based virtual assistant is available in 14 countries with 14 language variants
E-commerce giant Amazon is expanding its reach to its Indian consumers with its new Hindi voice model, allowing users to command voice-based virtual assistant Alexa, the company announced on Tuesday. This step is definitely a step to catch the slavery, Google Assistant, which has been supporting the language for some time.
The developers of the company are building Alexa's skills to include language for customers in India. Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) is nothing but a collection of free self service APIs and tools that enables developers to come up with Alexa easily and quickly with new skills and abilities.
Amazon has also made a request for commercial hardware manufacturers who want to take part in the development of Alexa Built-In products for India's Hindi speaking customers. They can submit their request for e-commerce giants only to get quick access to Alexa Voice Service (AVS) developer preview.
Currently, Amazon's Alexa is able to understand commands in Hinglish as well as a mix of English to some extent. Meanwhile, Voice based Virtual Assistant is available in 80 countries with 14 language variants. Hindi is going to be included in the list soon.
