Google free wi-fi - Google Station with free Wi-Fi connect expands to over 400 sites in Philippines.
Google stations are now available on more than 400 sites in the Philippines, five months after initial launch with 50 sites.
This service has seen an average of one million monthly active users connected to its free internet facility since its launch in late February.
The first 50 sites were available at Google station, which include Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) and Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) stations, as well as select universities such as Pamangasan NG Lungsod NN Nimila and Bukidan State University . Clark International Airport and Davo International Airport were also included in the first 50 spots.
Surrey, director of next billion users for Southeast Asia, said that they are still planning to set up more sites in the Philippines through their partnership with Smart Communications.
More are included in university, city hall, airport and bus terminals, public parks and plaza, restaurants, markets and malls expanses.
In addition to the Philippines, Google Stations is also established in six other countries such as India, Mexico, Thailand, Nigeria, Brazil and Indonesia.
