Along with this, under Jan-Dhan scheme, emphasis will be laid on opening an account of every adult person in place of every family. Under Jan-Dhan scheme, now new accounts will be opened, they will get accident insurance of two lakh rupees.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has given this information.

Jaitley said that the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan (Jan-Dhan) scheme being run by the government for financial inclusion will be continued from August 14, 2018.
Under the Jan-Dhan scheme, the account holders will get an overdraft facility of Rs 10 thousand. Until now this facility was Rs 5,000.

Account holders of Jan Dhan (Jan-Dhan) scheme will not have to follow any condition for withdrawing two thousand rupees from the account while using the facility of overdraft.
Earlier, overdraft facility in Jan-Dhan account was available only to account holders between 18 and 60 years of age.
The maximum age limit for overdraft facility in Jan Dhan (Jan-Dhan) account has now been 65 years. Now Jan-Dhan account holders of this age will also get this facility.

What is overdraft facility?
In fact, the facility of overdraft means that if a Jan-Dhan account holder has a good record of bank account then he can take the amount from the bank under overdraft limit even if there is no money in his account when needed. Can.
It is really like a short-term loan which is a facility offered by the bank due to the operation of the bank account.
In case of overdraft facility in Jan-Dhan account, poor families do not have to take money from the money lender on interest.

Jan-Dhan's scope will increase
Jan-Dhan scheme has been kept open ended. This means that the Central Government's ambitious Jan-Dhan scheme will continue even further.

Finance Minister Jaitley said that till now the emphasis was on opening bank accounts of every family under the Jan-Dhan scheme. Now the scope of Jan-Dhan scheme is being extended.

Now the account of every adult person will be opened in the scheme. New account holders of Jan-Dhan (Jan-Dhan) scheme will get a RuPay card, from which they will get accident insurance of two lakh rupees.
Earlier, Jan Dhan (Jan-Dhan) account used to get accident insurance of up to one lakh rupees. In this way, this facility has also been doubled.

Jaitley said that the Jan Dhan (Jan-Dhan) scheme was approved on 14 August 2014 and launched on 28 August 2014. In the last four years, 32.41 crore bank accounts have been opened under Jan Dhan (Jan-Dhan) scheme.

In the last four years, 51.5 crore bank accounts were opened all over the world, out of which 32.41 crore Jan Dhan (Jan-Dhan) accounts.
In Jan-Dhan scheme, 53% of the bank accounts opened are of women, while 59% of the bank accounts have been opened in rural and town areas.
