Still Down Yahoo Mail? Server problems hit BT, Sky and TalkTalk leaving users unable to access emails

Yahoo mail users worldwide were unable to access their email after the site crashed.

In the UK, the problem also affected the email accounts of BT, Sky and TalkTalk, which are operated by the US brand's service.

Reports of the problems began after 7am on Thursday, as customers resorted to social media to say they were unable to log-in or read their mail.

According to Downdectector.co.uk, thousands of people were complaining online about mass outages in Yahoo mail services, particularly in the UK and US.
In a later statement, Yahoo Customer Care stated: "Most services are online. This is a technical problem that has affected our services.

"We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we are getting everything back up and running."

Although Yahoo users began reporting that their emails were working again, many said that emails sent during the outage did not arrive in their inboxes.

Others complained that they were still unable to access the site.

Hayley Cameron wrote on Twitter to Yahoo: "My email inbox is now up and running, but no email has arrived during the outage. Will these be received eventually?

Tony West also tweeted, "I've been missing my emails since this morning."

In an earlier statement on Twitter, he said: "We understand how hard it must be for you. We are working particularly hard to fix this."

"We will do our best to keep you in the loop and will be posting as soon as it is fixed."

TalkTalk and Sky also tweeted about the case.
Twitter users were asking the tech giant what the problem was and how long the site would stay down.

Others said that when they tried to log on, they either received the message: "Unknown host" or "will be right back .... Thanks for your patience. Our engineers working to solve the problem Are. "

Stephen J. Sweeney: "Yahoo! Mail! It is! No! Fun!" While Fouli Luehlier said: "Could not login to my account for the last few hours, what is happening?

Starfraz Manzoor said: "This is not a good day to be one of those old school students who have been with Yahoo Mail."

Another Twitter user joked about Shelley replying to the email, "The Yahoo mail server is down - guess I can postpone the hold on my email and blame Yahoo (I obviously have I had every intention of answering emails today, obviously "

A spokesperson for Verizon Media, representing Yahoo, said: “We are aware of a technical issue that is affecting our services.

"We have already received some services online and appreciate the patience of our customers as we work to get everything up and running as quickly as possible."
