YouTube tests hiding comments by default on Android
YouTube is testing a new change that hides one of its most controversial aspects - the comment section. You will never be able to get a scary hive of scum and villains compared to the comments section of any YouTube video, which receives a sentimental response from fans and / or users.
The firm is launching a test for its Android app, which forces the users to choose to open the comment section intentionally. This will open a new window and remove users from the video.
YouTube gives up, tests hiding comments by default on Android
YouTube shared the following statement:
We are always experimenting with ways that help people find, view, share, and interact with videos that are most important to them. We are testing a few different options for displaying comments on the watch page. This is one of those small experiments that we run on YouTube all the time, and we will consider more broadly on roll features based on feedback on these experiments.
YouTube comments are not clearly going away, they are only being featured on video content. For those users who sometimes prefer to enjoy the video without being subject to an unpleasant username, it is a relief.
