Why did Van Dijk win the vote?
Following Liverpool's final defeat of 2018 by Real Madrid, van Dejak had every reason to nerves ahead of the 2019 decoder, but his concentration did not matter. He called off the protest and was voted Man of the Match as the side of Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.

Fearing since his arrival from Southampton in January 2018, van Dejak held more clean sheets than any defender in Europe's top five leagues in 2018/19. While Liverpool fell far short in the Premier League, their solid presence (and occasional goal-scoring efforts) provided the stage for a sixth European Cup.
