In a notification issued by the Central Government on Wednesday, it has been informed that now the address entered on Aadhaar can be changed easily.
The Aadhaar card is the most important document for every person living in India. If the address in your Aadhaar is of your ancestral place and you live somewhere else due to work, job or studies, then now you can easily change the address in Aadhaar.
In fact, for work like opening bank accounts, banks used to ask for an existing address in Aadhaar, due to this, migrant workers and students used to face a lot of problems. In the Aadhaar, you can easily update or change your important information, for this, the Central Government was making many efforts.
In a notification issued by the Central Government on Wednesday, it has been informed that now the address entered on Aadhaar can be changed easily.
Now those who are giving Aadhaar number for their KYC and want to give the address of any other place, which is different from the address written on the Aadhar card, then they will be able to give their second address by giving a self declaration.
This decision will provide a big relief to the migrant worker as well as those students who go out of their city for studies. Till now these people had difficulty in opening bank account, because on the basis the address was of their ancestral house and they used to work or study in another city. This change has been made by amending the Prevention of Money Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Rules.
Under this change, if a person wants to provide an address with an Aadhaar number other than the Central Identity Data Fund for identification, then it has been allowed. He can give the declaration form himself to the concerned institute in this regard and it will be completely valid. There was a long-standing demand to change the rule related to change of address in Aadhaar.
Who will benefit?
Along with the migrant laborers, students who live far away from their homes will be benefited by this decision taken about the address in Aadhaar. These people have their original residence address on the Aadhaar card, but want to open a bank account at their current address where they live.
Many such cases have come up in which people want to give the address which is more important to them than the address entered in the Aadhaar for KYC.
